I know because I have purchased Chanels for 20 years. It's an absolutely genius composition. I compared the EDP to the EDT, and found the EDP less strong -- maybe smoother/softer. Fast forward a few months to the other day and I am in Sephora testing the EDT and I love it so much I get a sample! Why would anyone want to smell like patchouli? I just didnt want to keep both. if you add Ginger and Insence to Chance you end up with Bleu (edt)IMO. My late father's last Christmas gift to me. On me, this is a wishy-washy ozonic and fairly anonymous. A spicy union is detected that is not very pronounced but leaves its seal here. It's a serious, adult, lady-like fragrance and very, very citrusy. This is eternally youthful perfume. As a person who enjoys heavy and woody scents, this is a rare floral that I have in my collection. It just smells like urine!!! The pineapple really stands out. All through rehearsals I kept getting lovely wafts of this fresh and pretty but still warm and interesting fragrance. Soft and elegant. This one is similar to Coco Mademoiselle. It's opening notes are quite strong and citrus-y, which almost wakes your nose up for the day haha. The EDT and EDP versions of Chance are different. It's powdery and lightly sweet, sophisticated. It was absolutely intoxicating. The combination notes of pineapple, pink pepper, rose and lemon, create a very interesting fragrant. I add few lines to express how much I love the house of Chanel; elegantly posh, wonderful house. This has all of the same classic and timeless elements while still having a relevant, youthful quality to it. Fragrantica Inc, United States. Everything I loved about CM is present and everything I hated about CM is gone in this fragrance. \'Chance is a tornado the door open to adventure and unknown, just like lips ready for a kiss.\'. I get spicy sweet patchouli. If Chance EDT is too tart and mish-mashed for your tastes, or if it just doesn't work with your chemistry, try the EDP version. The same Floral bouquet, is kind of dirty and bitter ,but this one adds sweet fruity patchouli and that comforting powder makes it more feminine in my opinion. After wearing 19 and Christalle for years I really think this will be my new signature. So I had a 100 ml bottle of Chanel Chance EDP for 4 years and had to give it away because I just never wore it. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Polge. It's just right. It's fine, but nothing I would purchase if I hadn't have got it as a gift. The pineapple is light and lovely, I'm a big fan of pineapple in fragrance, it makes me quite nostalgic. Effortless and calming while being serious at the same time. The start is more fresh. I usually get headaches from too much patchouli but the edt version is chic and nice love it.

It's a very classic, elegant fragrance and I think all ages can pull it off. I wasted my money on this one. The dry down smell is so classy and elegant. Its easy to say it comes from the house of Chanel. There is a lot of flirty pink pepper on the initial spritz, and on me it dries down to a good amount of musk coming through the patchouli. Patchouli! I thought it was fresh and feminine. Constantly changing and somehow different with every spray. The dry down is earthy and very nice. I struggle with the initial spray and top notes. I can't see it much special . If the word perfume had its own scent, it is what Chance smelled like on me. It simply does not do justice to Chanel and pales in comparison with Coco Mademoseille. On me after about 5 hours it becomes a skin scent but I can definitely still smell it. Its jewel for me. I would have never thought that patchouli had so many facet. This is driving me crazy. The woodiness reminded me of Coco Noir. It makes me sneeze big time! Performs very well in HOT weather. Is slightly sweet, nothing overbearing. Lanvin-Me . , , ! Perhaps it's just my chemistry, but this is just terrible on me. Extremely masculine and cheap chemical fragrance. I tested the EDT again and wasnt sure about that one anymore. It perfectly embodies that sense of posh sophistication that Chanel does so well. This one combine fruity notes with spicy notes intelligently, without being too noticeable. "Tart" is a great way to describe this fragrance. That mix sounded odd. It is not accidental, though, as it is a \'wheel of fortune\'. And it never truly goes away, it just dries down to a green musky type of fragrance.

The aldehydes in n5 to be precise. Give chance a chance. Ha!! Oh Chance, how do I love thee, let me count the ways! I cannot use the EDP now because I feel it is too mature for me. I have about 5ml left in the 100ml bottle I bought 5 years ago and Im determined to finish it so Ill be wearing it all this week with that aim but I dont think Ill be repurchasing. I love Chanel because they know how to use patchouli. I adore this Chanel perfume, but Id still say Eau Tendre is my favorite. You smell Chanel signature all over it, I only like the EDT though, the EDP is way too heavy. It has strong patchouli notes with slight peppery, floral citrus-y notes in the background. Every time I wear this I thinks it best perfume ever,I owned this since my 20s now in my late 30s. Chance is pure class.

It doesnt last a long time though (around 4-5 hours), and i can get away with spraying it more than three times. Very pleasant yet enchanting. You can wear it all the year and in any occasion and it is never boring. Perfume is subjective. This one could easily be a unisex fragrance. I tried the Chance EDT and initially really enjoyed it, so I tried the EDP and just wasnt as impressed. I like it, I don't love it. I get symptoms of having a bad cold, I get a terrible headache and fits of sneezing. Chanel chance and coco mademoiselle could be sisters. Chance will never be my signature, it still doesn't fit my personality well enough for that, but I have definitely found a new appreciation and perhaps even love for this fragrance. I have repurchased it a few times and I just love how pretty it makes me feel. I wish I could smell the pineapple or citrus as this may be enough to turn me on to it. There is something just irritant at the EDT, I don't know what it is, but my nose can't take it! Message if interested. A few hours later and I felt like I was getting a headache. I forgot my Chanel Chance EdT some years ago. Sweet pineapple, sparkly patchouli, jasmine, hyacinth and lipsticky iris. I get a lot of orange and grapefruit, but it's widened out into a rosy musk and some other distinct florals I can't describe. can not believe. It lasts forever!Tried yesterday evening after 12 hours still sniffing my wrist.Ive tested 3-4 fragrances ( do not recommend to test more than 4 perfumes at once) and Chanel Chance was more memorable and characteristic than the others.I think Ive been prejudged Chanel perfumes to be as sharp and masculine except Chanel Allure butEach of them has a point, being masculine or crispness can not preclude the seduction of them.Thats why its in my wishlist :) So if you are looking for a fresh and dynamic fragrance can be worn all occasions with a pretty good perfomance, safe to say anybody to purchase. I don't know what they do to the patchouli but it smells dank, rancid and so pungent! Gorgeous. I used to believe in the quality of Chanel so strongly but I now I am left with doubts. Elegant, clean, fresh but sweet, enough spicy, seductive makes me think of fairies :))). My wife recently received Chanel Chance as a gift and smelling it I liked the scent and thought it could be unisex so I gave it a wear. This one lacks the musky notes that take over the EDP. Pure love! Sprayed on my lower arm, this has a strong pencil shaving/peppery quality, and somewhat non-descript. I received a sample of Chance EDT with a recent purchase and gave it a try just out of curiosity. Absolutely stunning. Not my type of fragrance. I wish IT has just come out, I would buy it immediately. Chance Eau de Toilette was launched in 2003. now I kept it and also bought Eau Fraiche. It probably just isn't my cup of tea. This is a special fragrance.

This. Men absolutely LOVE this fragrance.

This smells like champagne and patchouli. I think if you like one, you would like the other. A very underrated fragrance indeed.Maintains the same composition as the original without the overwhelming sharpness of the og Chance. Perfume lovers: 792,148 During my two years of grad school I wore this perfume every day and so now when I smell it I am instantly transported back to that time. It's a very chic and sophisticated scent. I wasn't expecting to love this one so much since I prefer sweet scents. It's elegant and feminine. Chance is sweetly earthy, with a patchouli base common to other Chanel releases. It's a safe embrace, but not boring. Lol these reviews arent fake!

Perhaps it's The Vibe. Not at all like the EDP which is a complete masterpiece. I have been wearing this since 2007 and still love this fragrance. Fragrantica Trends is a relative value that shows the interest of Fragrantica members in this fragrance over time. It is generally pleasing, non-offensive and does not make a statement. I like the fact that is sweet without being overly sweet still remaining classic. All scents Chanel are refined and beautiful. Every now and then I'll steal a couple of spritzes when I'm in her closet. I wish the pepper and lemon would be more prominent though, because then i would absolutely love it. Great concoction that Chanel put together on this one. My older bottle was produced in 2016 and my new 5 oz bottle was produced in 2018. Pretty good longevity and nice sillage . I agree all positive reviews and the fact that it reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle. I see other Chanel rather clumsy and too earthy to be worn every day, but Chance fits glamour and cotton t-shirt equally. I adored the pineapple. I was given this about 7 years ago. I wanted this to work on me so badly. This is kind of lovely. After wearing it and seeing how it smells on me, I think I may add it to my collection. Try EDT if EDP is too heavy for you. So far my favorite Chanel fragrance I think. I'm 38 and wore this when it first came out I loved it made a big statement I had so many compliments and now I still love it I think its a unusual fragrance and has great staying power.

Sometimes it almost borders on unisex but it's still so feminine and chic. The Pink pepper & pineapple combo is FABULOUS! I almost run out of my Chanel Chance eau de toilette so I bought the biggest bottle that they have (the 5 oz bottle) at one of the big department stores. I'm also a citrus lover; I feel that citrus goes very well with patchouli and Chanel is one of the few houses who combine the two rather often. It's a little bit similar to Coco Mademoiselle, but with a different twist. Theres so many I like more than this now and from the Chanel lineup Id much rather have Coco Mademoiselle, Eau Premiere or No 5 Leau. I think coco mademoiselle is playful, yet serious and unapproachable. Way more niche and classier than the many niche fragrances around.. niche to me is better quality and the ability to detect different notes separately as opposed to a linear extremely blended concoction and Chance definitely gives me that. There is too much patchouli in this compared to my other Chanel fragrances. I gues it's the combination of jasmine and hiacynth what causes me a headache. This is an 'allright' for me. I also didnt know it was me at first. Then jasmine and pineapple. However, the juice itself is beautiful but shame on its performance. It last 1 hour on my skin in the summer, maybe 2 hours in the colder months. When I think of who would wear this, I always imagine a really successful, confident independent woman with her own giant, beautiful office with an amazing view in some skyscraper downtown. Over that, though, is a light citrus, some pineapple, and abstract florals, in which I mainly detect iris. Because I found out that it smells so beautiful and attractive after you have dipped in the water. Pleasant fragrance. Nothing special. its cozy but also a bit elegant. Just wow. The perfume itself is sweet(not overly sweet) yet fresh. I am a guy and I have a couple of women's scents that are musky like Fendi. I dont particularly like either Mademoiselle or Chance but I would not dream of making personal insults against people that wear them, The words that describe this fragrance best is "Simply beautiful" or "Beauty in simplicity". I put it on this morning and right now the I Feel Pretty song from West Side Story is flowing through my head. I know that sounds absurd, but as a patchouli lover, I can always appreciate a good patchouli fragrance and Chanel is the master of blending it to perfection. One of my roommates from over 10 yrs ago got this as a gift from her boyfriend- at the time I thought this scent was too mature for me and my wheelhouse of fragrance- the patchouli was a bit overwhelming to me at the time-however, I do recall how it would linger in our duplex and always left a trail- i did notice how the fragrance shifted the vibe and tone of our living space- there was such a richness to the scent- it smelled expensive, classy, seductive and romantic- there was something old school yet very modern about the fragrance-, This is one of the few Chanels that doesnt have your old grandmother scent. Chance by Chanel was the EDT I wore when I had my first kiss, drove for the first time, and graduated high school. A masterpiece. I kinda like it more than Coco Mademoiselle EDP even, it is "spicier". How very wrong I was! Even though the first spritz is very patchouly. What a nose!

Let's talk about Chance. To me it's a lighter and fresher/ crispier version of Madmoiselle.
