Otherwise, I was going to take it home.
I just bought this one, but I didn't really like it. I smelled this from a colleague of mine and discovered it in a very interesting way.
My favorite vanilla a childhood blanket, a worn-in pair of jeans, the softest knitted sweater, an old robe with holes in it that you still wear anyway. I bought it since second year college, and I have used up two full size body mists and two minis since then.
This is my first BBW purchase. It was like someone had bottled my personality into a body mist.
A strong alcohol smell for first few minutes until it dries down, heard it was a dupe for Kayali vanilla 28 but nope it is not LOL. It's warm, slightly sweet, not sickenly sweet, and very comforting, like sitting by a fire, drinking hot chocolate and eating marshmallows! I liked that version, but much prefer the newer one. Im sure sitting in someones house for 17ish or more years probably didnt help the situation. The floral notes in this keep it from being a cupcakey vanilla smell like many other perfumes that smell cheap and synthetic.. But I think that's what sets it apart (especially at the price range) This scent reminds me of macaroons, with a little extra spice added in the mix.
Super! She wears it everyday and she smells great.
The coconut note makes it stand out from so many other vanilla fragrances on the market. the original vanilla vanilla by the Body Shop (like 7 years ago) was my fave plain vanilla scent but they have reformulated it and now it just smells too sweet and synthetic. Unfortunately, Warm Vanilla Sugar just didn't live up to my standards. It's intoxicating.
Very nice. I love this perfume- as soon as the weather starts to turn colder, I switch from my floral/fruity perfumes to this! Then, it seemed roo light for me at night and I switched to hypnotic poison. Smell is subtle which is to be expected of a body spray. Warm, cozy, sweet, and sexy. I wanted to love this as one of my favorite smells in general is the sweet-things-baking smell. It is a lot like Victoria's Secret vanilla lace but actually better, it isn't that kind of sticky vanilla it's just edible and really appealing.
It caught my attention because I love vanilla.
Its like a gateway to the past. Love it! I feel like this is a little too strong and warm. I am a huge fan of vanilla and this is my all time favorite. Beautiful, warm, cozy and sweet vanilla with a subtle touch of sandalwood.
I'll only wear the original formula lotion and edt, as shown in the fragrantica picture.. Or designs even older than that-as long as its the original. It's almost like it disappears as soon as it's on me.
Unfortunately my mother caught a whiff of this on me and loudly proclaimed "What smells so awful?" I actually use it often for layering because it works perfectly to add vanilla and sweetness to fragrances I feel are lacking that element! It was created by looking at popular notes in perfume at the time, trends in Europe and America. Otherwise, I would not bother. someone's into Le Male by Gaultier.
Okay, but not great. It lasts up to about 10 minutes before you have to apply another twenty sprays for it to even have any kind of effect. This to me smells to friendly, too basic to be sexy..if I couldn't afford hypnotic poison I'd probably wear this at night. Fragrance Reviews: 1,286,811 I use the body lotion and it lingers nicely, like all day! :( Ugh.
I'm not ashamed to admit it! i like vanilla and the softness surrounding with an easy to handle type scent. Just in the last day or so, I sprayed it again and picked up more of the wood scent. Smells yummy.
Can also be layered with other perfumes. Nothing special, still looking for an awesome Vanilla perfume. smells alot like dior hypnotic poison, for a fraction of cost!
Smells like cigarettes and garbage, heavy on the alcohol too. I adore the smell of this, it's the perfect vanilla aside from Hypnotic Poison! it's ridiculous. I LOVE the artisan-style packaging. (which is not a bad thing). BBW just announced the launch of itsall-NEW 100% Hypoallergenic Body Care line, Pure Simplicity. Perfection.
i love the shower products for winter becuse it is so so warm.
I received it as a gift and while it isn't my favorite of its "type" it is nice. Especially on a cool fall day.
everyone says that fragrances like jessica simpson fancy, aquolina pink sugar, britney spears fantasy, etcetc smells like cupcakes/cookies/sweets nope. Once I got the idea to spray my sample vial -that had been collecting dust- over WVS body cream, and it turned out to be a heavenly combo. I love this when I want something simple and sweet, but a little darker. The lotion is even worse! Based on the notes listed, I thought I might enjoy this fragrance for fall or winter but its pretty much my nightmare scent. It's just a nice creamy, sweet vanilla with a bit of coconut milk. It smells like a vanilla candle or a vanilla potpourri. Like when it's raining outside and you're at home with a good cup of coffee with a good book. This fragrance smells just like vanilla and sugar.
Its not as classy as the Black Currant Vanilla that B&B used to sell in their Aromatherapy line. I cannot find the coconut too much, but can maybe sense a hint at certain times. This used to smell great, but the recent formulations just smell like straight up plastic with a twist of artificial vanilla extract. It is unique and hard to describe. That being said my memories of the old scent from when I was a kid still linger (utterly heartbreaking lol).
I own the "fragrance mist" version of Warm Vanilla Sugar.
It's like when you're eating a vanilla cookie, and somehow a chunk of celery gets in your mouth. Body Mist Pairing With Body Lotion Review.
cozy and sweet.
I haven't had this fragrance in a long time and I'm sure with time and reformulations it is not the same scent that I've known and loved.
Or when it's Christmas and it's cold outside, and your whole family is at home having a hearty dinner and laughing to your heart's content. I got the lotion of it for my birthday, along with a bath sponge and a B&BW gift card.
The scent lasts literally all day and I can always smell it on my clothes, jacket, etc. It used to have rice water, coconut and musk. I also remember being a rowdy teen dousing myself (and my clothes) with this juice to cover up the smell of cigarette smoke.
Literally the definition of warm vanilla sugar. So so so warm smelling.
I personally don't think its sexy..maybe sensual. It does smell like sugar cookies baking in the oven with a little hint of something.that hint of something makes menot dislike it much, let's put it that way.
I can't find the article now. While it is a sweet scent it is not a sickeningly cloying scent. I came across this scent by accident. Ahhh Warm Vanilla Sugar, one of the few great scents from the house of Bath and Body Works. Amazing that Margot Elena nailed it, but anyone who has considered purchasing her frag, BE WARNED, unless you like more niche perfumes and would not dream of purchasing a B&BW frag - then "Sugar Sugar" is a good alternative. This smells great on me. It smells a bit like freshly baked sugar cookies. For me this scent is just as the name is. I am taking this back next time I go, I also prefer Vanilla Lace to this. LOL, (Top photo via ebay, bottom photo via Instagram). I don't get any powder out of this.
I hate gourmand scentsthis is the only vanilla scent I can wearits warm and never syrupy icky sweet like most vanilla scents.
I'm not sure if I will purchase again because the reviews on the latest release claim it smells more alcohol. It's a wonderful warm vanilla blanket, cosy and soft on your skin.
I would not purchase this again, however. Did anybody use this?
Some vanilla, but if you're looking for a warm, creamy vanilla fragrance, this is not it. But I love the way this smells, reminding me of baking cookies for Christmas. The worst is the body lotion, it stinks now, smells so strongly of artificial cheap sandalwood. When BBW launched its Art Stuff line in the late90s, it really took theart part seriously. What happened to the other notes?
I really liked it before they changed the formula, it used to be very authentic and calming but now it's just turned into a very alcohol sort of fake vanilla. I smelled the lotion and it actually wasn't too bad. It is not as decadent and indulgent as Laura Mercier or Lavanila. Step 1 is the clear, fragrance-free starter gel, step 2 is the fragrance potion, and step 3 is the quick color. No one else that I knew in the univ has used it except for me. I actually find this quite mature, but in a good way. I can't hardly stop wearing it.
if you have another vanilla smell that just needs a kick extra of warmth, pick this up for layering! They were combined, and Warm Vanilla Sugar was born. Hmmm, I used to HATE this with my entire being and now that I've learned to enjoy sweeter gourmand type scents, I don't mind this at all. I loved to layer it with B&BW's Snowflakes in Cashmere once the winter months rolled around and had more than a few people stop and ask me what I was wearing or tell me that I smelled good. i sprayed it on the back of my hand just to test it and when i woke up in the morning i could still smell it. Another cozy warm scent from BABW. The sillage doesn't trail loudly behind you, but leaving a beckoning whisper behind you. I'm a male and I love vanilla scents so I bought this. eBay bottles don't cut it and are getting stale. I definitely smell the sandalwood and heliotrope.
It smells like burnt sugar. A very straightforward, no fuss or frills, Gourmand vanilla. (I haven't tried the new one as I've heard it's been reformulated so this is the review for the original.). It's not a like nor a dislike.
The EDT spray layered with the body butter is enough to last me all day long, from morning to night, with good sillage the whole time.
Kind of like the old-fashioned aftershaves.
Warmth in a bottle. I can think of quite a few other perfumes that I'll have to try this with.
for me this is such a cuddly, rainy day scent.
I had it's body lotion and I would love to buy the perfume too! I like to smell it on other people.
Even though it's not for me (doesn't really work with my body chemistry) I love how it smells on other people; very warm and cuddly. Warm Vanilla Sugar smells really excellent layered under DKNY Red Delicious. Someone gave this to me for Christmas 2012.
Warm Vanilla Sugar will always be a staple in my collection. Always a classic! At first it has a very overpowering alcohol smell until it warms down. I think it's interesting that such a seemingly simple perfume, has a more complex story behind it. I love fall, so this is one of the few things I like about the current BBW over the old BBW. A little overpowering, may cause headaches.
Was it fun to make? Sweet, sticky rice, and that was it. I love vanilla.
My ex wore this as her signature scent. The fragrance mists are a close skin scent and rarely project. If you have one of the first ones, enjoy!
It is excellent for layering under different fragrances. Wowwas randomly scrolling through Bath and Body Works frags after someone mentioned they were good for layering with perfume, and I stumbled across Warm Vanilla Sugar. Warm Vanilla Sugar by Bath and Body Works has a bit of a cult following in the fragrance community. It didnt have much of a smell. It smells like a mix between a bakery scent and a delicious suntan lotion.
It isn't overly sweet which I was concerned about. And you end up chewing them together. I'm not a fragrance snob and I generally like BBW scents, but this one is just awful. It's definitely a comforting, gourmand vanilla. Friend bought this on a trip to America and I fell I love!
Not a good quality scent, at all. Maybe it's available in a candle? this smell is such a classic!
I sprayed it on, and I didn't smell the delicious, classic vanilla fragrance that so many have written about. I mean its an absolute classic what more is there to say? The body spray last on me +5 hours .. She pairs it with the BBW WVS lotion. Most of the time, I find it very cloying, warm and sticky (if sticky was a smell). I would love to hear your stories. This one, along with a few others, have been changed. And I hate this so much - again, to be fair, I understand that my nose and my chemistry play a part in this.
I would get body massages with this. 5 out of 5 to the old one. Smells like baked goods with whipped frosting.. delicious, warm, cozy. The vanilla is light and watered downvery thin and weak. That goes-with-almost-everything kind of fragrance.
Smells like there's been a reformulation. its so cozy and warm. I have to say, Foam Burst is my #1 favorite BBW product of all time. This is a great casual perfume for the wintertime for me!
I prefer more complex vanilla scents, like Hypnotic Poison, or The One, which I find somewhat similar, cause in both all I smell is caramel and vanilla, sweet, sweet scent, although The One in its EDP version has better sillage and its more expensive. I got a little scared at first because I don't usually like sugary scents but this is perfect!
Makes me feel cosy and comfy. Very sweet, but also a little grainy. It's just OK. More of a burnt-sugar vanilla than a sexy vanilla cream (a la Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace) or fresh vanilla (a la Vanilla Bean Noel).
Buy it online BIG SALE on or Many items for sale on, Perfume rating4.07out of5 with1,257 votes. Health & Beauty Farm Wake-Up Body Wash (early/mid90s). It's kind of bland. For me the coconut is strong, which gives it a little more intrigue than you'd otherwise expect. I got some bottles and I'm using them up by spraying this under almost every perfume I wear cuz I love vanilla always and it rarely messes up a frag. I mean /hate/.
Like a dessert!! I pick up a tiny bit of coconut but not so pronounced that it is easy to discern. This is more of an effortless scent that is "attractive".
It lasts probably around 2 hours on me, but its understandable considering its a body mist after all. Smells like a warm sugar cookie with coconut shavings on top.
It's not too sweet, and the coconut is really subtle, and something about this is really addicting to me. The most plastic vanilla you can imagine. It really does have a warm feeling to it, almost like something vanilla just came out of the oven (but it doesn't smell like a pastry). Become a member of this online perfume community and you will be able to add your own reviews. It appears there has been a reformulation and rice may have been removed.
This is my favorite go to vanilla fragrance! I consider this a younger woman's introduction to vanilla fragrances. This is gonna be my winter scent. Does anyone remember the limited edition round shaped bottle of B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar it was a perfume mist in 100mls size with a little charm on the lid in a gold box? I love Warm Vanilla Sugar, but wish the Eau De Parfum was still available. As annoying as it can be, I do enjoy seeing these super old products show up. This is a basic, sweet vanilla that we adults can wear without feeling silly, though its not too grown up for teens. It is soft and only detectable close up. Good for layering with other perfumes to turn up the sweetness.
I think i'll try it again! Still looking for the perfect vanilla-based fragrance, preferably an EDP. Other than that complaint, this is a lovely everyday scent. Very nice and comforting. This stuff smells better than you would expect. Well we have the shops here now so not an issue. anyways, i like the fact BBW doesn't test on animals but do they use paraben? It does smell a bit bakery-like, though.
Fresh baked cookies! It is that good.
Thats because the original BBW splashes didnt have any.
Not greatly sophisticated but neither juvenile. No, your eyes arent playing tricks on you - theres no spray nozzle or tube in this bottle. Yummies! I was working at BBW when it was launched and it was a HUGE deal.
I like my scents to not be overwhelming, yes, but I like people to know I'm wearing them without having to basically be on top of me. Science Says Maybe, From the Gardens of Versailles to the Gardens of Babylon; The Allure of Olfactory Exploration Beckons at Jardin de Parfums, Priceless Perfume Bottles: An Auction of Poetry in Glass, The Ghost Perfumer by Gabe Oppenheim: on Creed & The Industry, a Book Review.
I love the woody notes in it. I love this!!!! It's sweet, but not too sweet due to, I'm guessing, the hints of cocunut and sandalwood. It's the warmest, cuddliest scent i can think of off the top of my head. I recently purchased the EDT and I love it better, it stronger.
Well first Fragrantica ought to change the picture of this fragrance.
This smells just like Sugar Vanilla by Body Fantasies. I definitely recommend Warm Vanilla Sugar!!!!! But its really weak. It's really lovely and I never get tired of it. I guess if it were gifted to me I would use it rather than throw it away, which is the kind of scent I was expecting. They should have never discontinued it. The vanilla got more pronounced in the drydown (the scent is still mostly linear), and I just felt quite conflicted by the time the perfume faded. Thats quite a story, though not outside the realm of possibility. I love it and buy it regularly. I plan on giving another bottle to my little sister since I don't really need so many (I bought a pack of 5 for cheap which is why I had 5 to begin with). The sillage is weak but every time a wind blows against me, a whiff of WVS tags along! Liked as a teenager, but prefer other vanillas. It has some light floral notes, vanilla, sugar, rice and musk. I like it and will definitely give it some wear. I don't understand why this is so popular.
Makes it more wearable all year.
Warm. I'm just gonna use it when staying at home and layer with vanilla lotion to increase longevity a bit. I live in Canada, and she actually went and drove down to the US to get this for me and Forever Red for my sister. I like it on her, but I don't care too much for the way it smells on me.
And you can pick up the notes of rice and coconut, I mostly use it in the winter.
To me, this smells better on a woman than any other women's fragrance I've ever smelled. Sometimes I like it, then other times it just smells plasticy. I did expect more vanilla from this one, so I'm quite disappointed. A softer, more sugary, less woody alternative to Cashmere Glow. Nice and sweet, very very warm. 1 glitter starter gel4 fragrance potions (pick-a-peach, flower power, fruit smoothie, and sweetie pie)3 quick colors (red, blue, and yellow). It's perfect for the very cold wintertime that I'm now surrounded by, but honestly, I'm going to wear the heck out of it no matter the season :~).
This fragrance has been a favorite of mine for many years.
I didn't love it. I only bought it because it was on sale.
Super yummy. It became famous when Oprah featured it as one of herFavorite Things in 2003. I think the scent of EDT is way better than body spray and lotion.
This is sweet cozy, smells like honey, coconut, and vanilla. I liked it at first but I gave it away to my sister because she likes it more.
One time I wore it and I actually enjoyed it and didn't experience cloying.
It dries down to the most awesome waxy, honey-vanilla musk goodness. (It was the only one I thought was appealing at the time, and it was pretty inexpensive.)
Overly synthetic and sickly sweet.
The spray and EDT are barely there. I dont know whether I have a dud bottle or a fake but there is just nothing there to my nose. Simple yet warm, sweet, sexy, & cozy. It smells like vanilla cookies baking in the oven.
very intoxicating womens frag. As I sit here today, smelling it, I think it's one of the notes that makes this fragrance so classic and endearing.
These BBW scents are so annoying. I'll give it another try. It cost around 15 and is a perfect example of getting what you pay for. I have always hated this one but I tried the perfume today and I actually like it, it doesn't smell as nasty as the lotion, smells like a winter vanilla. I never tried the old formula hence I can't compare my bottle's properties to the cult-favorite OG. I hope they never discontinue this fragrance. Sometimes nostalgia kind of takes over in place of good taste. A very cozy and warm scent. On me, this is what a vanilla fragrance should smell like. Which is amazing for a body spray. Complex, long lasting, soft, warm and inviting.
good stuff!
The original formula especially is to die for, really.
I wouldn't purchase itbut I think the coconut is what saves it for me.
I have positive feelings toward this scent. Is it me, or did back in the day did this smell different?
The whole store is basically filled with fall products. The scent lingers all throughout the hallway.
I had good luck with the Eau De Toilette a few years back (my boyfriend still reminisces on the scent this left in his car), but it was discontinued.
Im sure it was quickly learned by their product development people that making this a spray-on splash would be much more convenient.
I have the body spray on this and I layered it yesterday with shimmer lotion. They changed this scent from the way it smelled 10 years ago. There is a vanilla note but it is kind of overpowered by the other smells. I can imagine a kid having a field day with this. Linear but crowd-pleasing: vanilla, milk and coconut. Maybe it's because I've smelled too many sickeningly sweet and fruity or synthetically vanilla "perfumes" butI disagree that it smells too cloyingly sweetI was expecting it to..between the name and the company it's from I didn't exactly have high expectations. If you layer the lotion with the Japanese Cherry Blossom spray, you'll get a woody floral scent.
Thehero product of the line was the pumpkin face mask, which looked and smelled like pumpkin pie filling. Red Delicious is too sharp and bitter for me on its own.
*shrugs* I guess the sugary aspect was pretty similar. BBW warm vanilla sugar does. Note from the submitter: This body wash was returned to my store during the Christmas rush and thanks to the lenient return policy, the customer got store credit.
I appreciate the addition of sandalwood and musk on the dry down. Read about this perfume in other languages: Deutsch, Espaol, Franais, etina, Italiano, , Polski, Portugus, , , Nederlands, Srpski, Romn, , , , .
One time somebody returned an old Country Apple Foam Burst, but it also didnt dispense. This is Warm vanilla sugar. I thought hmmm. It is nice and I can see how people love this I personally dont LOVE it but I like it. Of course, since then, BBW has gotten more and more into fall. After one good spray the nozzle wouldnt work.
There is a reason this has been a number one seller for years. Disappointing.
It will start with a millisecond of alcohol when you first spray and just syrupy sweet sugar next. My sister loves the scent of vanilla so I purchased BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar body mist and gave it to her. Anytime I smell this I'm reminded of being a kid and chasing vanilla body sprays so I could smell like cookies all day.
