My mechanic told me the problem with installing this kit on the Tundra is that Ill lose down travel which could cause me suspension problems down the road. I put a leveling kit on it and Im looking for tires and wheels. I would say it makes contact about half way through the range of my suspension. Alika A leveling kit *should* level your truck, but every truck is different and therefore you may or may not have a perfectly level truck when its all over. And slide in the spacer. I would like to keep the suspension stock if at all possible. Also the truck would not shift into 4WD. Is there anyone out there that has a 3 and 1 on a TRD model and everything turned out fine or has anyone heared about this TRD model dilemma???? I have a 2005 4 door 4 wheel drive Tundra! Coils give you more lift and more travel, but most stock trucks dont need them unless they head off-road. I do not care to climb higher into cab, to lift higher into bed just to follow current fashions in trucks. Are you planning on doing any cutting, or did they tell you what size tires you need? I think that a basic spacer leveling kit is just fine if the trucks owner isnt a hard core off-roader, and Ive seen many of these trucks function for 100k miles+ without any CV wear or steering rack issues. Hard to believe someone managed to damage your tie rods installing a simple leveling kit, not to mention destroying the wheel speed sensor. I would like to get a COMPLETE kit so I dont have to run around looking for parts to finish the job. The spacers are hard Hi Jason! The only reason that most people chose spacer lifts is that, dollar-for-dollar, theyre a pretty good deal. I have significant wear on the outside of my tires now. You might be close to the upper a-arm but should clear fairly easy. One point is to get a kit with aluminum spacer blocks. While almost everyone who is handy has the basic tools needed for installation, many popular kits require a strut compressor and a pair of hydraulic jacks to complete install. If you wanted to just level your front without having to add anything in the back I would go with a 2 and make sure you get the differential drops and skid plate spacers. In Georgia it is illegal to raise/lower a vehicle more than 2 inches beyond factory recommendations.
What would be the recommended higth to raise it? A lift, up to 6, is not out of the question. Put the readly lift sst with the 3 front and 2 in the rear, very suprised how much higher it sits from stock i did not think it would be that noticable. Since most of us drive our trucks when they arent loaded up to max payload, we dont usually enjoy the benefit to having the rear-end raised up higher than the front. also rims were difficult to fit right. If so, what was the fix? If youre looking for other installers, there are some 44 shops around town that can definitely do the work and are probably charging a lower labor rate. Mistaken you for having your high beams on Contrary to what some dealers will tell you, adding a leveling kit wont affect your factory warranty as long as it is properly installed. FBG lift was good quality and customer service was great only thing the instruction they give you are not the greatest but if you watch a video on the install it is very easy to do. When shopping for a leveling kit, we suggest you read through the installation instructions before you buy so you understand exactly how the kit works and what steps are needed to install it. Their product is great, but they need to at least tell customers that they will need the diff. Possibly adding steering stops will help but no one is certain yet! I did a 1 inch level kit with the Rancho quick lift set up. Ugh.. This more rigid sidewall construction increases the perception of suspension stiffness often described as ride harshness. I found one called RANCHO RS9000XL pro series ($700) which you can control with a wireless remote, but they dont fit the tundra , HINT: says you can adjust height but doesnt. Thanks D. If theyre 18 (more likely), the biggest tire youll fit without any rub is probably 33 in heightand there WILL be rub at 33 just not much of it.
