Im a shameless nail polish/gel addict, so I certainly appreciate any informative swatching/review blog I can get my beautifully manicured hands on. Thats not good. Four days for me is like 7 days for you. My first attempt did not go as well as I would like. Too much wear after only three days.

And the shine was still there! My hands are crazy busy being stuck in chemicals and water and scraping up against all manner of things. Its kinda not so smooth as regular nail polish so I am going to remove it and use normal polish. Does this formula wear well with a typical base/top coat or do you have to use a gel formula top coat (such as the VINYLUX)? I also see them taking shelf position from regular polish in stores like Sallys. I'm a fan of shades of summer colors sparkling and shine to fall, a huge quality because it does not flake. G'head 'n scroll back to compare it to the day 1 photo - amazeballz! I can't wait to see 'em though! The polish DOES NOT wear like a gel polish (but without the light). Ooooh!

Huh?! [], If theres one beauty lesson I wish I would have learned as a young girl, it would be to apply ALL THE SUNSCREEN and STAY OUT OF THE TANNING BED. I like the gel polishes because when I dont have the time to do my gels, it doesnt take as long and the finished finish is the same AND I still get a great selection of colors.

That blue is gorgeous! And the final day 4 shot of my left hand looks like this. I found that the top coat bubbled. It has progressed a little more and is enough wear 'n tear for me to NEED to remove this polish. And here's my right thumb: it shows marginally more tip wear than it did yesterday but again, after working another 8 hours on top, I'd expected it to be much, much, much worse. Water = evil. And a click-thru for our OPI Fifty Shades of Grey, and a click-thru for our OPI Hawaii Swatches too! OPI Inifinte Shine retails for $12.50/ea. By this evening I had two chipped nails. That NEVER happens for me. Bummer to hear about that one being bad. Then fell in love with RCM after I broke it off with Gelish and was hugely let down by CND. OPI is my favorite polish by far and I was super excited at the prospect of getting this polish and it lasting more than a day or two. You'll have to hang out to see what we're up to. She wears the stuff, she comes to work, I shoot the stuff. Im done with that product. Amandas non-dominant left hand after four days.

OPI Infinite Shine officially launches in March 2015 at salons nationwide but its already online at LoxaBeauty.com and coming soon to ULTA.com. Thanks for posting! Had this professionally put on at a salon and it lasted over 7 days with no chipping. Nice review!

I did get some colour transfer from my colour coat to my top coat brush; don't be surprised if the same happens to you.

I hear you about the added investment. I know the pictures are fuzzy but its wicked hard to focus my phone on such a puny little area sorry! And I love that OPIs line doesnt stain.

Ive only tried Shellac so Im not the best person to ask. Thanks for sharing your client experience with us. Youre welcome Deanna. The bottom coat and the color remain fine, but since the trio works so well, I just buy a fresh topcoat.

Within 24 hours after painting my toes the ENITRE nail polish lifted more than half way off 2 NAILS. And you can also barely see the wear at the tip of my index finger, right?

Still shiny though! Well, gel polish does require a capital outlay for the lamp, and a significant effort to remove; but you do get an almost instant cure, and when youre experienced, an almost impossible to chip, ultra-long-lasting glossy polish.

Please read the lables/ingredients ;).

Overall I love IS. With regular stuff I never even get to 3 days when I'm on vacation but I can see Infinite Shine goin' for a full 7. Take 15% Off First Order with Shopbop App, Use Code APP15. These polishes are just longer wearing polishes. I had to take it off and I didn't have any staining or nuthin'. We beat the crap out of our right hands - we use them badly for 8 solid hours and if a polish lasts though a single 8 hour shift, yeah that just doesn't happen. The others go on a bit easier! I love getting my nails done professionally, but it doesn't always make sense to do so given how much time I spend at home. Im excited about this line. I'm even a little bit surprised.

I'm amazed.

Ive actually just today, purchased the IS system on Amazon ($7.45/bottle was a darn good deal!). Not even close! I mentioned Amanda works with me right? Theres my left again you can see the wear at the tips. The lacquers I tried are both cremes and they have a smooth, liquidtexture that applies nice and even on the nail. While this was a sponsored opportunity from HSN, all content and opinions expressed here are my own. That's 14 hours of nail polish hardship and I gotta say I'm impressed with this total lack of wear on her left hand 'cause I really understand what she's been doin' with them hands.

As other reviews have started, the polish lasts a long time without chipping, it's shiny Blah, blah, blahat first that's all true. I just like the variety of options!

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152601955676300&substory_index=0&id=638386299. Sorry, the damn auto correct- See you can hardly see them thumb nail scratches, right?

Any suggestions there????

Chat soon? OPI top coat is top of the line for nails needing a solid finish. Im getting amazing results with Infinite Shine. Really looking forward to trying these.

That's FOUR days.

Fantastic formulas!

It's up to you to let me know if I'm right. You would love the blog, Chickettes.com. The polish seems to wear the same as without it. Amandas right hand after four days of Unequivocally Crimson. I think, rather than invest in any of the special long-wear nail polish systems that set themselves apart from Regular Nail Polish, since I am a gel polish addict first, and a RNP buyer second, Ill continue to extend RNP wear, when I wear them alone, by intensive use of a good topcoat like Seche Vite or Orly Glosser, every other day, and remember to cap the tips.

Happy to have sturdy choice with the gels. Thank you HSN for sponsoring this post. I have heard that from multiple techs about VINYLUX but nothing about IS yet.

I dont hate it, but I dont love it. I wrote a huge article about it here Unequivocally Crimson goes on splendidly. And hey, while youre waiting for more information on OPI Infinite Shine, visit OPI.com. Wear on lighter shades is much less visible to the naked eye so keep that in mind. Ooooooh Gosh, That is my cup of tea, dark colors and so glossy. They are also well pigmented, only needing two coats. Follow All Lacquered Up's board Nails on Pinterest. I recommend this magnificent professional brand and absolute quality. Thats day three on my left hand.

Its my favourite. Already has for me.

I painted my nails with the three step system for the first time yesterday afternoon. Lotsa water, lotsa chemicals, losta use. I do use a basecoat . Healthy nails are VERY important to me with my clients. Well, there are three components base, colour, top. Though, differentiating itself from the others, OPI Infinite Shine is a 3-Step system. Oh, hello totally red stained side walls and cuticles. At this time, I only have two shades theres been a supply issue here in Canada on account of those new silver caps they cant manufacture them fast enough to ship them so thats why were seeing a little lag in terms of the product being in-store here in Canada. Like, what? Not sure why but I am vigilant in keeping them filed to quick while growing out damage from tips and acrylics. This 3-step system reminds me of LOreal Extraordinaire Gel-Lacque line.

I'ma struggle through another day with this polishand I'll see you tomorrow to show you what Day 4 looks like! I love these type of reviews! Four days. They dont streak one bit and they cover perfectly!

This year we are off to India with the bold-hued essie Resort 2016 collection.

Its not gel. Sally Hansen Thinking Of Blueis similar but no longer available. I certainly appreciate it.

Im definitely one for traditional polish.

While I expected to have an OPI dupe in my stash, nothing comes close. I have some old favorite OPi colors (long time fan of OPI) that I am using with the gel printer and top coat. Water = death to polish. L.A. Left index wear again see? I'm not gonna put those circle things on this picture because I'm pretty sure you can see the wear. Really? I was thoroughly impressed with the opi product campaign. Back to my concern, Im waiting to see if this dries out nails.

And her right. I mean its not terrible but if you know me, you know I think any chips or wear is pretty much intolerable. I have let the polish dry for well over an hour and the top coat STILL removes color when applied. And she capped the free edge too.

Ooops. Flowing texture with easy application, I love the fine brush with square edge is very practical.

They look great even without top coat. I really, really think that.

All rights reserved. Top coat can be UV dried but CND and others had that 10 years ago already. And this Infinite Shine is supposed to be OPI'sanswer to long-wearing polish.

HOWEVERI used it with one of my regular formula OPI colors (did the whole thing: base coat, color, to coat) and it lasted me 1 actual full week before I saw even a hint of a chip. But its really hard to apply. She used base, two colour coats, and top. Lots of wear and lots of chips. Theyre all either too greyed, bright or dark. If I paint on some regular OPI and go to work, after one 8 hour shift my right hand nails look exactly like this and off the polish comes. If you enjoyed this article, subscribe now to receive more just like it. I change out my polish too often to be interested in these types of polishes. Then you take it all off with acetone like you would any regular polish.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!!!!! I am super impressed.

We don't use our hands for normal things. The scratches are still barely visible and my weirdly placed chip-scratch is maybe microscopically bigger but really no discernible differences between yesterday and today. Amanda is workin' today so she hasn't yet had time to send me her images for day 2. Other components present is less than 1% concentration. And I am 62 years old, so that is saying something! Hi!

Ugh. I think it is arriving this week.

The next two times I wore Infinite Shine, I made sure to wrap my tipsand the results were much improved. The patented OPI bottles get a makeover in the Infinite Shine line, with a chrome cap.

I cant help it. One thing I have to add- their nude colors are excellent!

Amanda after six days of wear, removal, and a shower.

I'm pretty sure I'm right though. She also says that nail is very thin in that spot.

You just get used to the soak-offs. Thank you for testing these ones out. Let dry for 2 minutes.

But it's been cloudy and cold and snow-rainy and crap out so I couldn't get any of that good UV from the sky to test my theory. Trying OPi IS primer and top coat with RNG OPI colors.

Then, [], From Caribbean beaches to African safaris to the North Fork coastline, the essie Resort palettesalways promise us a colorful adventure.

True story. She oils, maybe too much cleansing before I polish.) I love the base coat and polishwhich I have found to be very shiny. Then FingerPaints.

Oh. Its never going to be gel. Ever since I saw Beetlejuice as a little kid, Ive been fascinated with the look of Tim Burtons films.

The top coat is a problem. As I get older, I am constantly reminded of those mistakes when I look in the mirror.

Mink oil also works well. Questions thus far?

I didnt begin to see any tip wear until Day 5 and chips didnt appear until a week after applying. Ugh. I apparently also missed a spot on the free-edge of my thumb. They used to have tons and tons of regular polish.

The formula will prevent color from smudging while drying to a smooth, high gloss, protected shine. If this was a darker shade, this kind of wear would be 100% unacceptable and I'd have removed it by now. Not bad considering I slapped this stuff on at 3pm, rolled out to work at 4pm and then worked a few hours. Actually its just the Withstands the test of Thyme that is the really bad one.

I feel like I've wasted my money. Stay tuned to this post for the wear-test updates well add as soon as we can.

But I certainly plan to! This here post is a long one - get a cuppa coffee 'n a sammich 'n have a seat!

Thank you!

What a trooper she is, right?

Love both colors and the finish is simply amazing.

Just tried it now after buying about five colours.

My dominant right day 3: that's definitely more wear at the tips.

So lets move on to shade number two! Though its interesting that you like RCM and not Gelish since they are made by the same company. I saw these at my local beauty supply place last week and was like WHOA what is this? Pull the topcoat over the tips of nails to seal in color to the very end. [], When it comes to makeup, Im all about neutrals and keeping things simple, but Im loving all the bold lip colors that are trending this spring.

LOVE the selection.

My dominant right thumb day 3: there's wear and possibly a couple puny chips at the free edge there - it's almost invisible to the eyeball but it shows up very well in a photo. I know I am! Glad I found your page.

Easy, right?

I had no idea! You gonna show up to see what day 3 looks like? I agree, Sandy! Its how I do. But this is FOUR days!!! However, regular nail polish generally wears similarly on my nails so, I wouldnt say you need to invest in this system unless thats an issue for you. Im always skeptical of gel hybrids and their claims!

Its polish.

The colors arent anything to write home about, but Ill probably pick one up to try it out when my no-buy is over. Yesterday I put in a full 8 hour shift behind the bar - lotsa scrapin' up against things and sliding my nails along the bar. Green varnish # ISLT87 I'm a sushi rollLe and fuschia No.

Thats a great point Sandy.

She shows pretty good lasting power at the free edge of most nails but that middle nail thatd make me crazy! Trust me. Not sure if it was the way I applied it or not, but after applying the top coat, my shiny nail color was so dull that it looked matte. I say nope - polish should stick and be flexible enough to bend with your nail instead of chip - that is if you use your hands for normal things.

COLORS Salon Fabulous Nail Treatment Quick Gloss Fast Drying Top Coat, Sally Hansen Advanced Hard as Nails Strengthening Top, Sally Hansen Advanced Hard as Nails Strengthening Top Coat, 0.45 OZ. (Her toes have had dry spots on them lately and I dont know why. I have used Delore Naturals which is a blend of vegetable oils. Then you wear it.

While you're reading and looking at all the pictures, you'll need to keep in mind that one shift at work for me (and for my awesome polish-tester Amanda) is probably equal to about three days of normal wear for most people. This is NOT a gel polish. Fascinating, right?

This result is actually stellar for us. You gotta keep in mind that what I use my hands for is more than likely not what you use yours for (unless you're also a bartender or always have wet hands). OPI has entered the gel hybrid game with OPI Infinite Shine.

Its in an opaque black bottle to keep light out. Finally, the normal perspective view of my day 4 of Infinite Shine Withstands the Test of Thyme. If I'd been able to stick my nails out into the sunshine for 5 minutes immediately after polishing, I think it would have set up much better and lasted wear-free much better too.

What a disappointment there.

I know lots of you are getting tired of waiting patiently for reviews to roll out so what have I decided to do for you? My left is not my dominant hand so if thats the wear on my left yeah I couldnt bear to show you my right.

I wonder if hers is performing the same as mine My non-dominant left on day 4: that's really minor tip wear showing on the index finger and the middle tip shows starting signs of real wear. Ask away - you know I'll answer 'cause that's how I do! Nice swatches!!

I am in Ohio and have had the Infinite Shine for several months. Harumph.

If you follow me on Instagram or SnapChat, you know I cant get enough of the new Burts Bees 100% Natural Lipstick in Magenta Rush (been wearing it non-stop), [], I dont know about you guys, but these hints of warm weather weve been gettinghas me ready for spring to arrive, so Im stocking up on new accessories for when that first 70 degree day hits. I havent worn IS long enough to know if it is drying. Yep, I do. She says it went on pretty well and she waited one minute before topcoating. Its my dominant and it definitely shows more wear on day two than my left does.

2022 2008-2014 Beautygeeks (imabeautygeek.com). and two months ago stopped chewing.

Lets have a look at my right hand! But I do have a question, do you think it is possible to wear the infinite shine base and topcoat with a normal OPI lacquer instead of the infinite shine lacquers? and the stuff is good! I can get about 5-6 days wear from regular polish so Id like to see how I do with this. I havent seen any other reviews that state this.

Like, what?

Its really rich and walks that fine line between vivid and moody. Step 1: Apply a thin layer of PRIMER to protect your nails. No streaks, nice level, and she capped the free edges.

The Primer not only helps the product adhere to the nail, it prevents staining.

They dont have gel in them and just because their top coat contains an ingredient that its sensitive to light- it doesnt make it gel.

So, thanks for your efforts. Shipping Restrictions : This item cannot be shipped via air.

The bottle of top coat is ruined due to thisIll stick to Seche Vite for the top coat.

RCM is the retail version. It started chipping and peeling within 2'days. Maybe for some girls with just the right nail surfaces, they work, but not most of us. It doesnt require light to dry but, exposure aids in longevity. I think its necessary to make sure it is mixed well. Thanks for listening! Thanks!

But we should maybe look at my dominant right hand on day 4 huh? My only concern about this product, is wondering if it dries nails out. I tried the o.p.i.

Thats it. Should arrive Feb 4th, so I shall report back either singing its praises or give you 10 reasons why it shouldnt be a thing. For best results, use with Infinite Shine Primer and Gloss Top Coat, Primer Base Coat - Apply one coat to prepared nails, Wait two minutes after second lacquer coat, Let set for two minutes before applying Gloss top coat, Finish with one coat of Gloss for a durable finish that cures to a mirror shine in natural light. Theres all the stuff I can see that makes me crazy. Ps.

^^^Thats like saying that snow is the new ice cream because it contains frozen water. For Amanda and for me, its a fail. Photographs by Karen Falcon 2014 BEAUTYGEEKSwww.imabeautygeek.comSpecial thanks to Amanda best guinea pig ever! Amanda tells me there is a small split in her middle finger nail that was already there and that's what accounts for that nice big chip.

Her name is Amanda and shes kind of a nail polish nut so it works out well for both of us.

Ive only tried the Sally Hansen ones so far, but it was a HUGE let down. But to me, this amount of wear is too much. I probably wont but the nrw OPI gels because of cost and having to use the system , more expense.

We work together so I know her nails are going through pretty much the same thing mine are. Coverage was horrible.

For more info, visit OPI.com. gel.

The brush is the same OPI Pro-Wide versionwith its flat, wide shape and flexible bristles. I have never had this chance to have beautiful manicures that stay for a long time, until I discover this brand that for me is the best in the world.

I rarely wear polish for more than a week, let alone 10 days, so notliving up to that claim isnt an problemfor me.

I am sorry, but I am actually starting to resent them.

opi infinite shine: unequivocally crimson. It looks worse than it is though, and Ill wear it again tonight for a full 8 hours and shoot again tomorrow morning.

And after all that work, it only lasted me for 4 days before the first chip.

infinite shine 2 and it does not stay on..I thought is was a gel but it is not.i paid a lot for the product I do not think I will use it again.

I really, really did. Hi Jill! Glad to know the polishes are 5-Free.

She's right handed. The lighter the shade, the less evident the wear at the tips is. I know you're having trouble believing that but if you saw what regular-normal polish looked like after 8 hours, you'dbe stunned.

It nearly made me weep to see so much polish gone.

This part is really important to note: I gotta tell you that this wear you see on day 4 with OPI Infinite Shine is the wear I normally get on day 1 with any other regular polish/top coat combo. I use it over regular polish with no problems. You paint em all on like you do with any regular polish.

Hmm. Its not dryness. Highly recommend them!!

I also think that just like the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, the magic is actually in the top coat. Ill have to check her out.

The extended-wear systems dont seem to have solved the puzzle of how to provide all the benefits without the problems, yet.

I have a photo of my clients nails after 13 days! If we look at it from this angle, we can see the edge at the tip of my index is actually a little worse than you think. After experiencing dulling with VINYLUX, staining with Gel Envy and a streaky finish with Miracle Gel, I was curious how OPIs version would compare so, I picked up a couple bottles and put it to the test. The colors are beautiful but also have not gotten the fully advertised wear out of it. Base, two coats of rather thick gloopy consistency colour coat, and one generous coat of top coat. I have always had soft brittle nails until I discovered the miracle of using a good oil treatment.

By the way, Michelle, have you heard of or tried CGs new Ever Glaze yet????

Hoping it works.

Instructions say to use two coats, so use two coats. So, the Infinite Shine, which stays on many more days than a regular polish, is great!

I look forward to seeing her in 10 days to see how it goes. ISLT83 Hurry Juku get this color are two colors that I love so much one as the other, their sublime packaging with their pretty silver metal cap .

I took advantage of the SHOPBOP Spring Sale to snag the emerald green Marc Jacobs satchelIve been coveting, and []. Off it comes! I dont get significantly better wear with the extended wear polishes.

Yes, you probably have a dupe but I aint interested in dupes. I love these two colors though. And this girl knows how to apply polish. I have been wanting to venture into the gel hybrids and I am such a fan of OPI but I love to read reviews before making a polish investment.

Tomorrow she promises to send more pictures!

Streaky and uneven.

Good to know that you were able to use the system with regular polish.

Remember I said the camera picks up waaaaay more imperfections than your eyeballz do? Ive decided to do a review as Im wearing the stuff and you can just look at the day by day pictures as I take them. So what is OPI Infinite Shine? Thanks for the feedback on IS.

The lighting in bars is notoriously not good so again, excuse the crummy photos. Then along came Finger Paints and Gelaze (prob my #1 faves so far).

Ive tested the red I got its called OPI Infinite ShineUnequivocally Crimson and its a solid poppy red. I have no issue with the polishes, but once I put on the Top Coat, my lovely glossy finish becomes dull and almost matte.

I have been using the VINYLUX Top Coat over other polishes just because I like it. OPI Infinite Shine Get Ryd-of-thym Blues is mid-tone royal blue creme. Its coming though Suzi told me herself. Inspired by the opulent silks, saturated hues and golden desert sands, these four colors are taking us on one vibrant ride.

It looks good!

I tell ya what -- I think this stuff is equal to the magic that's stuffed into the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel top coat. Amazed. I certainly couldnt have worn it 10 Days, as the product claims. Its surface damage from wearing and old and inflexible polish too long. Its called Withstands the Test of Thyme and I guess well see if it really does or not, huh? Heres the shot right after I put on the base, two coats of colour (beautifully pigmented, slightly thin, shiny, and awesomely quick to dry, so be fast and even in your application), and one coat of top. If I didn't use my right for evil, I'm betting I could go maybe 7 days with this stuff.

My theory is that because this top coat "cures" (which really means hardens) best in full spectrum UV light (which only really comes from the sun and not from a UV lamp), that without sunlight, it takes a long time to set up hard enough so you experience zero tip wear at all.

Most Viewed Nail Base & Top Coat Products. I also think the "long-wearing-ness" might depend on the shade and formula of the colour coat when combined with the top coat. I noticed the polish wasnt very glossy, even when the polish was fairly fresh.

RCM has never disappointed me. I know some people were wondering about that. I think OPI Infinite Shine is stupendous! Great post, thank you for the info ! TheresSuzi n me!

Normally, the wear on my right with any other polish would be waaaay further down and there would be chips My non-dominant left day 3: There's a little tiny bit more wear at the free edge of my index and a very slight amount of wear starting on my middle.
