For one thing if you do decided to rebuild your self, make sure you source the batteries from a reputable source. If your battery is completely drained, a Surface Dock might not be able to fully charge your device. Leave your Surface plugged in and install Surface and Windows updates, see Download drivers and firmware for Surface for details. I will upload the pics tomorrow found all the pieces and open one of those batteries up.

I took some voltage readings of the Warn battery pack while charging. The batteries in Surface Book may also charge at different rates, depending on the power state of each battery.
It may not display this or other websites correctly. they make a 4Ah and 6 Ah pack for the Kobalt. Make sure you have the latest updates installed on your Surface. Change the power connector orientation where possible or force a restart.
