You really need to know a LOT about electricity to do that safely. Sensor detects motion and turns lights ON and OFF automatically. I try to turn it on whenever I remember while taking a shower, and keep it running for about 5 minutes afterwards, while my wife never turns on the fan, mostly because she doesnt remember to do so.
