It has a very smooth finish that is easy to clean and appears to create less friction while grinding. Unfortunately, when I put it on my mixer it didn't seem to fit properly. Ordering was easy and fast! Tried my first grind using a very old tilt-head Kitchen Aid stand mixer. No cheap metal residue in the grown meat. The order was processed in a couple of hours and we received the package a few days before the due date. The stainless steel is rendered flawlessly and the pieces fit together perfectly. Pay over time with Affirm. Easy to take apart and clean. That is service.

Seems to grind well, does not load Kitchenaid mixer up too much. I throughly cleaned and dryer it and put It all in large zip-lock bag and back in the original box. Having owned a Kitchen aid grinder attachment for my 600 hd as long as i have owned my mixer, i had resigned myself to the idea that, not only will it take me a long time to grind 5 pounds of meat, but i would also have to spend the same amount of time to clean the grinder. While only grinding 3 lbs of beef, the motor did not strain or heat up. We ordered this meat grinding attachment to replace a Kitchen Aid brand attachment (which had already been replaced once). I was very excited when the grinder/stuffer came in. We just started processing our own deer meat. I love this product and the fact it's made out of stainless steel. Im sure it will last a lifetime. Saving money andyou know what youre getting Ive had trouble getting ground pork and ground chicken when I wanted it, also its hard to tell fat content. Got this to grind our dogs special foods. My first experience with a meat grinder and I was amazed at how easy this was to use and how quickly we were able to make over 40 lbs of venison sausage. I then covered the cookie sheet with plastic wrap, then placed it in the freezer for approx. Have been putting it in the dishwasher and comes out spotless. I am very pleased with it. Its heavy, precision made, polished stainless steel. Best meat grinder attachment on the market! Beautifully engineered in stainless steel - it knocks spots off the Kitchenaid plastic equivalent. Even though i tried my hardest to lag my 475 watt mother by feeding as fast as i could, not only did the motor not lag, when the process was completed, the heat generated by the mother was negligible. The whole attachment takes up very little storage space and being able to use my Kitchenaid to power it is a plus. But NOT The Smokehouse Chef Grinder, top, solid build quality, I've had mine under a week and have already made Burgers and Sausages, will certainly never buy ground meats again when it's as easy as this attachment makes it. It can even go in the dishwasher which is reasurring - again, unlike the Kitchenaid one. The diameter are known so easy otherwise to find something.
